This is my Kite Plight animation in its rough stage. I'm currently cleaning it up at the moment. Coloring and backgrounds will come after.

In the final version, the scene where the Indian girl drags Tanka and then talks (voiced by me) will be taken out. Reason is because a lip sync animation was required for my Adv. 2D class - I don't intend to use any dialogue when it gets finished. The sound effects were thrown in rather at the last minute but that will be taken care of later.

I also want to point out that I haven't worked on the final design for the kite yet. I obviously want the kite to be essential to the project so it's not just going to be a pink diamond (it's not even going to look like how it does in the storyboards). It's all filler for now.

There are spots here and there where I'd like to fix up more but for the most part, I'm liking where it's going. Thanks to everyone for your help and support!

AMAZING Kelly!!!
You're designs, sounds, and ideas are always that way.
Great Job!
Oh can you show me how you did the loading screen?

This is really, really cool. The animation is great. I think you should keep the lipsynch. It really strengthens it I think. Just maybe push the animation on it more since it doesn't seem to be on par with the rest of your short. But then again it doesn't really matter since you're taking it out. =)
Aww, thanks

I basically copied the loading screen I had for Snail Away. ^^; I can send you a flash file with the loading scene and you can just copy the frames.

Really? I feel it's one of the weaker scenes because it feels unnecessary. Plus, others have pointed out a plot hole that it feels as if the girl met Tanka for the first time yet, she already calls him by name. Then again, I never intended the scene in the first place. ^^;

Thanks for your input though. :)

Wowowow! ^_^

Its looking totally awesome, and you havent gotten to really coloring it yet even! :D

This totally blows snails away... AWAY! XD

Even the ending bits were neat!

I cant make much of any sugestions as the drawing goes, I just suck at it too much, but as for sound effects I know your doing revised bits... But for soundtrack, were you planning on sticking with a soundtrack completely uncut, or were you going to be doing some sound editing.. Just mentioning it cause a few scenes seem to be slightly different in terms of musical moods, but its just one or two, you could probably use another song from the same artist maybes, but yah, Its going really great! XD I wish I had a project that amounted towards something this awsome, to use in my demo reel (not that Im interested in doing 2d animation), but its a reel-quality piece I think :D
Thank you very much! ^^

Actually, all the music (aside from the credits) is from one track uncut. I'm keeping the music for now since it's the closest thing that matches, but who knows what could happen... What particular scenes were you thinking of?

I like hearing any suggestions, thanks!

Well in general it works out very well, like you made the storyboard around the music ^_^

Just a few instances It just seems a bit noticable when the same notes are played for different moods... and if you were a musician Id just sugest changing a few of the notes, such as when the kite hits the cactus. :p But sometimes its possible to splice in something very simmilar with audition or something... a few other notes, such as the buffalo stacking, or the first cut of the buffalo noticing the grass is a bit either repetitive, or generic sounding music, at least more than the content... maybe playing another chord under the notes would help? ^^ If not its still a very solid piece uncut :D
I love your animations. Very fluid.
